US 11-year-old Boy, fakes kidnapping, to escape exam, Bad Report Card |
On Sunday, a Ghatkopar resident registered a complaint that his son, who studies in Class VI in an English medium school on Golibar Road in Ghatkopar (West), had been kidnapped. The complainant informed the cops that his son had called from a public telephone booth to say that four men in a white Omni van had kidnapped him.
The boy, who hails from a middle-class family in Ghatkopar (W), decided to fake his own abduction after being inspired by a detective serial he saw on television on Saturday.
According to the Ghatkopar police, the boy revealed that he feared failing in the exam because he had not completed the revision. As he did not want to be scolded by his father, he decided to cook up a story and buy time. As things turned out, his plan left the cops on their toes on Sunday before finally managing to find him and get to the bottom of the matter.
The kid claimed he managed to escape unharmed, but the evil fake kidnapper managed to hold on to his bookbag. Police suspected the story was fake in large part because the boy managed to leave with his band instrument, but not the bookbag that held the bad report card.
