GHAZIABAD Anna Team Should Not Have Intention, To Target Any Political Party (Congress), The Core Committee of Team Anna met here on Monday, sans the ailing social activist Anna Hazare, amid confusion of whether or not to target Congress during the upcoming Assembly elections.

Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and other Team Anna members attended the deliberations during which they discussed the future course of action, including "short term and long term strategy" of the movement.

The members who attended the meeting were of the view that Team Anna should not target one single party, sources said.

Team Anna for targeting Rahul Gandhi, Digvijay Singh today alleged that its intent was political and it was out to create an environment against the Congress. “The intent of all Anna team, Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravishankar is political.

Corruption is not the issue, their issue is how to create an environment against the Congress party,” he said, while asserting there was no question of going back on the issue of strong Lokpal.

Team Anna, would fast alongside their septuagenarian leader to pressure the government into introducing a strong Lokpal Bill.

Singh, a wily political figure often used by the Congress party to launch scathing offensives against opponents, had come down hard on Hazare for going ahead with a planned hunger strike campaign even though, he said, most of his demands regarding the bill had been met.

Samajwadi Party and the Congress before they made their way into the BJP, and the whole BJP shindig in Parliament over the Lokpal Bill, and the national campaign by senior leaders over black money, are shown up for what these are: grandstanding in the battle for managing public perceptions over combating corruption while being open to accepting those accused of graft if it gets the party a few more votes.

This is demonstrating by two social activists from Kanpur who have been camping in Hazare’s village, Ralegan Siddhi, to learn the nitty-gritty of his village-level reforms to replicate them in their home state.
