Omar Abdullah, In Baramulla To Assess, Fallout Of CISF Firing, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullh flew to Boniyar village in Baramulla district Tuesday to assess the situation following a student protesting power shortage being killed in firing by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Class 12 student Altaf Ahmad Sood was killed and two other civilians were injured when CISF troopers allegedly opened fire on demonstrators protesting power shortage in their village in north Kashmir Monday afternoon. The valley is facing acute power shortage.

Abdullah, who had sent his two ministers and top police officers to Boniyar, 60 km from Srinagar, soon after the incident Monday, flew to the area from Jammu Tuesday morning. 

Five CISF troopers have been arrested on charges of murder, according to Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani.
