Mobile Review: Moto X Launched, Specification And Review, SIM-free

Mobile Review: Moto X Launched, Specification And Review, SIM-free

Well sort of. Motorola today unveiled the Moto X, the first smartphone made after Google announced it was acquiring the company almost exactly two years ago. To be available initially in the US for $199 with a two-year contract and in Canada and Latin America (sorry, no word on India launch but we’d suggest not holding your breath for it), the Moto X aspires to be the iPhone of the Android world.

For a touch-free experience, users can simply use the command “OK Google Now” even when the phone is in sleep mode that wakes it up and will initiate Google Now. The phone’s information display also turns on when the user picks it up or takes it out from the pocket to display the time and notification icons.

Specification Of Moto X

OS:Nearly stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Cellular connectivity:

LTE

Display:4.7-inch AMOLED, 720p resolution

Form factor:Go crazy with colours

Wi-Fi: Cutting edge

SoC:Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon

Internal storage: 16 or 32GB

Primary camera: 10.5 - megapixel camera with Clear Pixel sensor

Front camera: Two-megapixel

Sensors:

accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and the compass, Moto X has a barometer and a temperature gauge.

The critics are missing just how deeply Google and Motorola are changing the game with sensors and new contextual features — the new voice feature isn’t just a small thing, it’s a whole new sensor package and represents a new approach to hardware and software.

Only Motorola’s devices let you talk to them at any time without turning on an app, or touching something and it does that in a way that doesn’t use much battery life (even more remarkable because the screen on the Moto X is kept on full time too).

Moto X is just one in a string of products and services that will bring radical new functionality to users. Examples? Google Now, Google Glass, and the new Moto X phone that keeps the microphone open full-time. The Xbox One, coming this winter, will have a 3D sensor on it so sensitive it can see how fast your heart is beating just by watching your skin.

Smart Functionality:

You Can Talk To It With Touchless Control For e.g “OK Google Now, open Spotify.”

Touchless Control will work if the phone’s display is off and you are across the room. Today I have been practicing by shouting at the phone from across the apartment. The range is about 12 feet or so.

Moto X employs what Motorola calls “Active Display.” When the phone is sleeping, it will show the time on the device by fading in and out.

You Can Sync It To Your TV

The Camera Is Designed To Be Easy To Use

You Can Migrate All Your Stuff From Your Old Phone

You Get 50GB Of Google Drive For Free

The camera lacks a shutter button instead, tap anywhere on the screen to take a photo. Keep pressing on the screen, and the camera will take a series of shots in succession.
